Yemeni joint forces led by Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri, commander of the 2nd Giants Brigade, intercepted a smuggling vessel off the coast of Al-Madhariba and Ras Al-Arah in Lahj Governorate.
The boat was reportedly carrying a large shipment of drone components and surveillance equipment intended for Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
Official sources reported that the seized cargo included high-resolution cameras for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), GPS tracking systems, remote-control units, and advanced night-vision devices.
Three smugglers were apprehended during the operation. The confiscated materials were examined and secured under the supervision of the Specialized Criminal Prosecution, which confirmed their military-grade nature and potential threat to regional stability.
This latest interception, according to the sources, marks a significant blow to the Houthis’ drone warfare infrastructure and highlights the vigilance of Yemeni Internationally recognized government forces in countering foreign-backed destabilization efforts.
