Buhaibeh attends GCC Health ministers meeting in Kuwait

Yemeni Minister of Public Health and Population, Qassem Buhaibeh, participated in the 88th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Health Ministers, held Saturday in Kuwait, with the participation of several ministers, experts, and regional health officials.

The meeting discussed a range of joint health issues, foremost among them the update of the Unified Gulf Health Strategy 2026–2030, which aims to strengthen cooperation among member states and build more resilient and sustainable health systems.

The ministers also addressed several key topics, including the establishment of the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the development of the “Wafid” health program for expatriate workers, as well as the centralized pharmaceutical registration system and unified pricing for medicines and medical supplies to ensure their quality and availability at reasonable prices.

In his speech, Minister Buhaibeh praised the efforts of the GCC Health Ministers’ Council Secretariat in unifying health policies, expressing Yemen’s aspiration to expand cooperation with its Gulf neighbors in ways that contribute to improving healthcare services across the region
