Only 45% of births in Yemen attended by trained personnel despite UN support to health institutes with training for students and midwives and the deployment of mobile clinics, according to a recent United Nations Fund for Population (UNFPA).
The report noticed that Yemen continues to face a dire humanitarian crisis, with over half the population requiring aid due to economic collapse and failing services adding that the healthcare system is also struggling,
The report added that humanitarian response efforts are hampered by access restrictions, particularly for female staff, and security concerns.
