The long queue of vessels waiting to discharge oil and LPG in Houthi rebels-held Ras Isa sea port has reduced dramatically in recent weeks amid security and sanctions risks according to an update published by Lloyd's List Intelligence website.

Analysis of Automatic Identification System (AIS) and satellite imagery, the update found, indicates more tankers are calling in Ras Isa with their AIS switched off

The Houthi rebels began expanding the port towards the end of last year, but the capacity growth was not sufficient to accommodate an influx of tanker and gas carrier traffic. US air strikes last May inflicted heavy damage on Ras Isa.
