After visiting Muscat, Sana’a and Tehran, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg concluded another visit to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he met with Senior Yemeni, Saudi officials and members of the diplomatic community.
According to a press release by the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen the envoy’s discussions focused on the developments in Yemen, the region and its impact on the Yemeni peace process.
Mr. Grundberg stressed that the roadmap remains a viable path towards a nationwide ceasefire, addressing critical economic and humanitarian measures and initiating a political process.
In a meeting with the ambassadors of the permanent members of the UN Security Council (P5) in Riyadh, the Envoy thanked the P5 for their continuous support of his efforts and stressed that the unity of the Council is paramount to achieve a way forward for a peaceful and comprehensive resolution of the conflict.
