Local sources revealed that a number of, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office’ staff in Sanaa remain detained by the Houthi rebels and there where about Some still unknown.
According to the sources, armed elements of the Houthi rebels stormed the Red Cross office, confiscated staff’s personal laptops, took away dozens of staff, including foreign personnel.
Contact with the staff and the head of the ICRC mission in Yemen, Christine Siola, was lost for several hours.
Although the Houthis later returned communication phones to a limited number of staff, a state of anxiety and ambiguity still looms over the fate of the others.
