The United Nations Mission to support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) announced that a new Deputy Head of Mission arrived to Hudaydah.
UNMHA news update mentioned that Ms. Mari Yamashita of Japan arrived to Hudaydah following engagements with officials in Aden and Sana’a.
UNMHA added that in her new assignment, Ms. Yamashita will also serve as Deputy Chair of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) and play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement and advancing lasting peace in Yemen.
Ms. Yamashita succeeds Ms. Vivian van der Perre of the Netherlands who was appointed as Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).
