In its latest media update the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that its forces successfully destroyed two Iranian-backed Houthi uncrewed surface vessels (USV) in the Red Sea and one Houthi radar site in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen.
CENTCOM update stated that “It was determined the USVs and radar site presented an imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region.
It concluded saying “These actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure.
In the meantime, media run by the Houthi rebels claimed that two US-British raids targeted the Midi district in Hajjah Governorate, northwest Yemen.
The raids on Houthi rebels weapons and sites in Yemen were seen as a response to Al-Houthia rebels attacks in the Red Sea.
The situation in Yemen remains volatile, with the possibility of further escalation as international and regional powers remain entangled in the conflict
