U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on Tuesday that its forces successfully engaged two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in Iranian-backed Houthi rebels-controlled areas in Yemen.
CENTCOM added in an update published on its X account that It was determined the Houthis UAVs presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels in the region.
Earlier on Monday CENTCOM also reported that Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists launched one anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) toward the Gulf of Aden from a Houthi controlled area in Yemen adding that CENTCOM forces successfully destroyed four un-crewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen
CENTCOM concluded that “these actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S, coalition, and merchant vessels.”
