In an interview with the American television PBS NewsHour, Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, discussed the way forward from the violence in the region and Saudi Arabia's role.
He confirmed that his country is clear that escalation – in the region - is in nobody's interest, adding “And that's the message we are sending very clearly”.
The Saudi minister said “We are committed to ending the war in Yemen and we are committed to a permanent cease-fire that opens the door for a political process.”
He also added: ”We are going to continue to work towards that end, and we are very — fully engaged in that. And I don't think that we are going to see a significant risk to that right now.
